NBC Secures US Open Broadcast Rights Through 2032

The USGA has confirmed its partnership with NBCUniversal, extending its coverage agreement for the US Open until 2032. This agreement, announced on Tuesday, will bring an additional hour of primetime coverage for this prestigious championship during the weekdays. The relationship between NBC and the USGA dates back to 1995. In 2015, Fox Sports took over the broadcast in a 12-year deal, which was ultimately shortened to five, before NBC regained the rights. NBC will remain the exclusive home of broadcasts for the three professional USGA events: the US Open, the US Women’s Open, and the US Senior Open. In addition, the Peacock platform will stream all USGA programming that airs on NBC and will offer exclusive coverage of the US Open and the US Women’s Open. The new agreement includes 48 hours of coverage of the US Open, of which 25 hours will be broadcast on NBC. This figure will increase to 33 hours when the US Open is held on the West Coast. The US Women’s Open will have 27 hours of coverage, including seven hours on NBC during the weekend. For its part, the US Senior Open will have 18 hours of broadcast, six of them on NBC. Versant, the new media company that will spin off from Comcast Corp., acquired the broadcast rights to the USGA championships for USA Network and Golf Channel until 2032. USA Network will broadcast the US Open and the US Women’s Open, while the other nine USGA championships will air on Golf Channel.
