Sei Young Kim Wins the BMW Ladies Championship
Seasoned golfer Sei Young Kim, with a decade of experience on the LPGA Tour, clinched victory at the BMW Ladies Championship after an impressive final round of 67 strokes.
This triumph represents the 13th title in Kim’s career since she joined the tour in 2015 and ends a five-year winless streak, since her previous championship at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020.
Kim, 32, finished the tournament with a score of 24 under par, with a total of 264 strokes in the four rounds played at the Pine Beach Golf Links, on the Korean peninsula. The South Korean golfer only made one mistake on the 3rd hole, but then achieved six birdies, securing a comfortable lead over her closest competitor, Nasa Hataoka.
Nasa Hataoka, from Japan, also signed a final round of 67 strokes, placing second with a total of 20 under par (268 strokes). Celine Boutier and Kim A-lim shared third place, two strokes behind, with rounds of 67 and 66 strokes respectively.
Defending champion Hannah Green completed the tournament with a round of 66 strokes, finishing in fifth place with a total of 17 under par (271 strokes), tied with Yealimi Noh of the United States. Lindy Duncan, also from the United States, was one stroke behind, sharing seventh place with South Koreans Choi Hye-jin and An Na-rin, who tied the best round of the day with 63 strokes.
Last week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple wins on the LPGA Tour this season, after winning a five-hole playoff in Shanghai. Thitikul did not participate in this tournament, but will be part of the Thailand team at the International Crown next week.
After the International Crown, the Asian circuit of the LPGA Tour will continue with two more events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
