Elite golf prepares for the PGA Championship, with the world’s best players competing for the title. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, considered the main contenders, lead the betting, although the attention of the bettors is focused on other names.

Scheffler and McIlroy: Slight Favorites

Scottie Scheffler, currently at the top of the world ranking, and Rory McIlroy, recent champion of a major, start as favorites in this tournament. Scheffler (+450) leads the betting, closely followed by McIlroy (+475).

McIlroy, after his victory at the Masters, became the favorite, but Scheffler regained ground after his triumph at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the support of the bettors.

DeChambeau: The surprise that worries the bookmakers

Bryson DeChambeau (+800) emerges as a serious threat, generating the most concern for bookmakers. His excellent recent performance, including a top five at Augusta National and victories in LIV Golf, have positioned him as a strong contender.

DeChambeau has received a large number of bets and is considered one of the biggest liabilities at BetMGM. “Currently, I feel like the world is with DeChambeau,” commented Anthony Salleroli, golf expert at Caesars Sportsbook. “His game suits Quail Hollow, it’s a course for those who hit it hard.”

Rory McIlroy, quien completó el Grand Slam de carrera al ganar el Masters en abril, busca comenzar el año con dos campeonatos importantes consecutivos.

Rory McIlroy, who completed the career Grand Slam by winning the Masters in April, seeks to start the year with two consecutive major championships.

Johnny Avello, DraftKings sportsbook director, also highlighted the interest in DeChambeau to lead in the first round.

Other contenders to consider

Quail Hollow, tournament venue, offers valuable data as it is a course that also hosts a PGA Tour event. McIlroy, with four victories at this course, continues to attract significant bets.

Other players with good recent performance in this field include Xander Schauffele (+2000), Jason Day (+9000), Wyndham Clark (110-1) and Max Homa (125-1).

Justin Thomas (+1600), champion of the PGA Championship in 2017 at Quail Hollow, is also among the favorites.
