Sebastián Muñoz Signs Historic Round in LIV Golf
Sebastián Muñoz starred in a memorable day on the LIV Golf circuit, recording the third round under 60 strokes in the short history of the competition. The performance of the Colombian golfer, which included a double bogey, positions him as the leader in the event held at The Club at Chatham Hills, Indianapolis. Muñoz completed the course with an impressive 59, twelve under par, after sinking a short putt for birdie. He currently leads Dustin Johnson by three strokes after the first round. Despite a stumble on the 5th hole, where a double bogey marred his start, Muñoz demonstrated resilience and determination. He reacted with birdies on 13 of the last 14 holes, culminating his performance with the decisive putt on the 1st hole (he started on the 2nd hole due to the shotgun format). With this outstanding performance, Muñoz joins Joaquín Niemann and Bryson DeChambeau as the only LIV Golf players who have achieved a score below 60 strokes since the circuit began in 2022.Both players also finished their respective rounds at twelve under par. In the overall standings for season LIV, Muñoz currently holds seventh place.Niemann shot a 59 at Mayakoba in 2024. DeChambeau signed a 58 at Greenbrier in 2023.
