Keith Mitchell maintained the lead at the Truist Championship after a round of 67 strokes, three under par, this Friday. Mitchell, who had an outstanding performance on Thursday with a round of 61, remains at the top with a total of 12 under par at the Wissahickon course of the Philadelphia Cricket Club.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, with intermittent rain and low temperatures, Mitchell managed to offset two bogeys with five birdies, including a streak of three consecutive holes with a birdie.

Shane Lowry, with a round of 65 strokes, the lowest of the day, positioned himself in second place with 11 under par. Sepp Straka placed one stroke behind.

The defending champion, Rory McIlroy, signed a card of 67 strokes, three under par, and is part of a group at 7 under par, along with Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay.

Mitchell, with a tour victory in 200 events, leads for the fourth time in his career after 18 holes and for the third time this season. The 33-year-old player demonstrated his consistency by recovering from bogeys and maintaining his strategy, adjusting only his club selection.

Lowry, who started with a round of 64, made birdies on four of his first eight holes and finished his round with another birdie on the 15th hole.

McIlroy had an uneven round with six birdies and three bogeys, in his first individual tournament since completing the Grand Slam at the Masters.

The Northern Irishman demonstrated his skill on the greens, achieving long-distance putts on several holes. He has won three times this season and is a four-time champion of this event.

McIlroy acknowledged the need to fine-tune his game after a two-week break, as he prepares for next week’s PGA Championship.
