In the world of golf, Rory McIlroy is at a peak moment in his career, with achievements that could be difficult to surpass. Despite his impressive victories, including four at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, the golfer acknowledges the significance of his triumph at the Masters last month.
An Unmatched Achievement
McIlroy, after a drought of almost 11 years in major championships, managed to complete the Grand Slam of his career, a milestone that places him in the history of golf.
“We all need to have goals and dreams, and I’ve been able to do something I dreamed about for a long time,” McIlroy said at a press conference at Quail Hollow.

The golfer does not rule out continuing to seek new goals, but acknowledges that the victory at the Masters could be the highlight of his career.
McIlroy has relived key moments of the Masters, recalling his emotions and sensations during the final round. After a birdie putt on the 18th hole that gave him the victory over Justin Rose, the golfer celebrated effusively, showing the intensity of that moment.
At 36, McIlroy is at the top of his game, with notable victories in PGA Tour events, such as the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship.
With his success at Quail Hollow, he is one of the favorites to win the Wanamaker Trophy, which would be the third of his career. In addition, he is shaping up to be a major competitor at the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and the Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club.
“I have achieved everything I wanted. I have done everything I wanted to do in the game. As a child, I dreamed of being the best player in the world and winning all the majors. I have done it. Everything that comes after this, for as long as I decide to play competitively, is a bonus,” McIlroy stated.

McIlroy has considered what it would take to be the best European or international golfer in history, but prefers to focus on enjoying his achievements and playing at the best possible level.
Although surpassing the records of Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods seems difficult at this stage of his career, McIlroy will seek to equal the six titles of Lee Trevino, Phil Mickelson, and Nick Faldo. His focus is on giving his best each week, especially in the major tournaments.
