LIV Golf Increases Million-Dollar Prizes in 2026
The cash prizes for LIV Golf competitions will experience a notable increase starting in 2026, according to the Sports Business Journal. The weekly prize pool will amount to $30 million, with a specific allocation for the team competition.
Starting next season, the sum of 20 million dollars will be allocated to the individual stroke play format, while the remaining 10 million will focus on the team competition.
In comparison, the eight most prominent PGA Tour events offer prizes of $20 million. The tournament with the largest prize pool on the PGA Tour, even among the majors, is The Players Championship, with $25 million.
The 13 LIV Golf teams are structured to operate independently, allowing each captain to manage their own commercial agreements and player contracts.
The responsibility for incorporating new players during the off-season now falls on the teams and their captains. The large signing bonuses that characterized the early stages of the league seem to be a thing of the past.
