Stewart Cink Wins Charles Schwab Cup
In an exciting final round at the Phoenix Country Club, Stewart Cink claimed victory at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, an event that marks the end of the PGA Tour Champions season.
Cink, with an impressive final round of 67 strokes, four under par, finished the tournament with a total of 20 under par (264 strokes), surpassing Steven Alker by two strokes.
Alker, who led the classification in the third round, finished in second place in both the championship and the overall season standings.
The experienced 52-year-old golfer added his third victory of the season and the fourth in his career on the over-50 circuit. Throughout his career, Cink has celebrated eight victories on the PGA Tour, including a memorable triumph at the 2009 British Open, where he defeated Tom Watson in a playoff.
Freddie Jacobson, Jerry Kelly, and Tommy Gainey shared third place with a total of 15 under par.
