Lance Stroll has been penalized with five grid positions for Sunday’s United States Grand Prix, due to an incident with Esteban Ocon during Saturday’s sprint race. The collision between Stroll and Ocon occurred at the first corner, when the Aston Martin driver collided with the Haas driver in the final stages of the race, which culminated under the safety car and was won by Max Verstappen. The stewards determined that Stroll was responsible for the incident, imposing a five-place grid penalty, as well as two penalty points on his super license, totaling seven within a 12-month period.
