Lance Stroll Penalized with Grid Penalty
Lance Stroll has been penalized with five grid positions for Sunday’s United States Grand Prix, due to an incident with Esteban Ocon during Saturday’s sprint race. The crash occurred at Turn 1 when Stroll, attempting an overtake on the inside, collided with Ocon’s car. This incident led to the race, won by Max Verstappen, finishing under the safety car.In addition to the grid penalty, Stroll received two penalty points, totaling seven in a 12-month period. Drivers can be suspended for a race if they reach 12 points on their super license within a year.The stewards determined that Stroll was responsible for the incident.
