Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed his definitive retirement from motorsport, taking on a new role as an ambassador for Ford’s racing division. The renowned driver, winner of eight Formula 1 races, has been named Global Ambassador of Ford Racing, formerly known as Ford Performance, becoming the visible face of its activities in the automotive world. Ricciardo, a beloved figure in the Formula 1 world, was one of the stars of the successful Netflix series “Drive to Survive”. Although it was already an open secret, Ricciardo has made official his decision not to compete again.
In his new role, Ricciardo will work closely with the Ford Racing team, focusing especially on the Raptor brand and the lifestyle it represents for many Ford customers. Ricciardo explained that, when deciding to retire, he looked for the most authentic way to stay connected to the world of motorsport.“Although my racing days are behind me, my love for anything with wheels will always remain high and that’s why I’m proud to partner with Ford to become a Global Ambassador for Ford Racing,” Ricciardo wrote.
