The seven-time world champion was supposed to participate in the race at Mugello, but Ferrari confirmed that he withdrew to be with Roscoe.
Hamilton shared an update on the condition of the 12-year-old bulldog via Instagram on Friday morning, along with images from a veterinary clinic.“Please keep Roscoe in your thoughts,” Hamilton said. “I want to keep you all updated.”Lewis Hamilton confirmó el viernes que su perro, Roscoe, había entrado en coma.“Roscoe contracted pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe. He was admitted to the hospital and sedated to calm him while they ran tests and during the process his heart stopped.”“They managed to recover the heartbeats and now he is in a coma. We don’t know if he will wake up from this. Tomorrow we will try to wake him up. I am by his side and I want to thank you all for your prayers and support.”Lewis Hamilton often shares images of Roscoe on social media, and the bulldog, who has often attended multiple races over the years, last visited the Formula 1 paddock at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone.
Reserve driver Zhou Guanyu took on Hamilton’s responsibilities at the Mugello test along with Ferrari’s regular Charles Leclerc.
The test, which is being carried out on a modified version of this year’s Ferrari, was scheduled to help Pirelli finalize decisions on the hardest compounds in its tire range for next year.
