Enrico Cardile Joins Aston Martin as Technical Director

Aston Martin has officially confirmed the incorporation of Enrico Cardile as technical director of its Formula 1 team. The Italian engineer, coming from Ferrari, joins the team after a legal dispute over his start date. Cardile left his position as technical director of Ferrari in mid-2024 to join Aston Martin. However, negotiations about his incorporation were affected by a dispute between both teams. The arrival of Cardile is part of Aston Martin’s strategy, driven by owner Lawrence Stroll, to become championship contenders from 2026. The team has made significant signings, including Adrian Newey and Andy Cowell. Earlier this year, Ferrari secured a court order preventing Cardile from collaborating with Aston Martin until his “gardening leave” period ended. The court ruled that the engineer was already in breach of the non-compete agreement with Ferrari.
