Briatore, who led the Renault F1 team to championships in 2005 and 2006, controversially returned to Alpine in an advisory role last year.

He was banned for life from F1 for his role in the Crashgate scandal as Renault’s boss, but the sanction was overturned in court.

His return last year to the same team, now renamed as Alpine, has had a significant impact behind the scenes.

Played a key role in Renault’s decision to stop building F1 engines at its French headquarters.

Alpine will compete with Mercedes’ power in 2026, which has led Briatore to guarantee that the team can fight for victories next season.

Briatore also played an important role in the initial promotion of Jack Doohan to a race seat this year, while also seeking the signature of the Argentinian Franco Colapinto, who replaced Doohan after the Miami Grand Prix.
