Alonso praises Bortoleto: “The best rookie of his generation”
The renowned driver Fernando Alonso has expressed his admiration for the performance of Gabriel Bortoleto, from the Sauber team, calling him “the best rookie of his generation” after his outstanding performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Bortoleto, 20 years old, achieved a notable sixth place in Budapest, just behind Alonso, who finished in fifth place. This result secured him points for the third time in the last four races.
He makes few mistakes, always pushing. He is the best rookie of this generation.

After a complicated start to his debut season in Formula 1, Bortoleto has shown a notable improvement, which has contributed to Sauber’s rise to eighth position in the constructors’ championship, one point behind Aston Martin.
Bortoleto commented that he has learned a lot throughout the season and that the team provided him with an exceptional car for the race in Hungary. “We did an incredible job,” Bortoleto said.
Formula 1 now enters its summer break, with the Dutch Grand Prix scheduled for August 31st.
