Joshua Could Return to the Ring in Summer: Hearn Reveals Plans

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua could return to the ring this summer, marking the boxer’s comeback after a period of uncertainty. Joshua is in a process of recovery and preparation, after being involved in a car accident in Nigeria in December. The incident, which resulted in the loss of two close friends of Joshua, raised doubts about his future in boxing.

Originally, the plan for AJ was for him to fight in March and then against Tyson Fury in August. That’s not going to happen.

Hearn has indicated that Joshua’s return to the training camp could happen in the coming weeks, which would open the possibility of a fight at the end of the summer.

Although a showdown with Tyson Fury was initially planned, Hearn has confirmed that this fight will not materialize immediately.

The priority is Joshua’s physical and mental recovery, so options for his return to the ring in July are being considered. Hearn has stated that every fight carries risks, especially after what happened. The promoter considers that the fight against Fury could be more likely at the end of the year or the beginning of 2027. Last month, Joshua spoke about the accident, thanking for the support and promising to fulfill his friends’ dreams. Joshua has expressed his determination to honor the memory of his friends and continue his path in boxing.
