Jaron “Boots” Ennis Debuts at Jr. Middleweight: Rise and Ranking

Boxing offered little action this weekend, which resulted in few changes in the divisional rankings.

Jaron “Boots” Ennis Imposes His Power

Jaron “Boots” Ennis formally debuted at 154 pounds with a resounding victory over Uisma Lima in Philadelphia, sending a clear warning to the rest of the division. Ennis knocked Lima down twice in the first round, forcing the stoppage of the fight at 1:58. Although Lima did not represent a great test for Ennis, his impressive performance earned him the number 3 spot in the super welterweight rankings.

Yoenli Hernández Achieves a Quick Victory

Yoenli Hernández, number 8 in the middleweight ranking, also achieved a victory in the first round, defeating veteran Ramon De La Cruz Sena in Florida. Hernández sent Sena to the canvas with a body shot in the first minute, and the fight was stopped before the start of the second round. Hernández maintains his position at number 8 and awaits a real challenge in his next fight. Boxing division rankings highlight the best in each weight category. These rankings are updated based on recent results and performances. Boxers who announce their move to another category are included in the new division, if applicable, once they compete in it. Boxers holding titles in two divisions may be ranked in both. Boxers who have not competed in the last 12 months, and who do not have a scheduled fight, will be removed from the rankings until they fight again. Any boxer who tests positive for a performance-enhancing substance will also be eliminated. This boxer may re-enter the rankings after their next fight.
