The promising Slovak-British boxer Moses Itauma and former world champion Dillian Whyte are on the verge of finalizing an agreement to face each other on August 16 in Riyadh.
The fight, which will be held as the main event of the Riyadh season coinciding with the Esports World Cup, will mark a significant crossover between combat sports and gaming culture.
A Key Moment for Itauma
For Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs), considered the prospect of the year in 2024, this fight represents a crucial moment in his young career. The 20-year-old boxer has gained attention for his combination of power, composure, and pedigree, and now he will have the opportunity to prove he is ready for the next level. The Whyte Challenge
Meanwhile, Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs), former WBC interim champion, will be the toughest test for the young boxer. The veteran returned in December 2024 to defeat Ebenezer Tetteh after a seven-round fight. This fight was only Whyte’s second in two years, after testing positive in a doping control prior to his scheduled rematch against Anthony Joshua in August 2023.
