Fundora vs. Thurman Postponed Due to Injury

The expected WBC super welterweight title defense of Sebastian Fundora against Keith Thurman, scheduled for October 25, has been postponed due to a hand injury suffered by Fundora during training.

Sampson Lewkowicz, Fundora’s manager, confirmed the news along with representatives from Premier Boxing Champions. The entire event will be affected by this situation.

“Fundora will return in January 2026,” Lewkowicz declared.

The Fundora vs. Thurman fight was to be the main event of the “PBC on Prime” card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. PBC hopes to reschedule the fight as soon as the extent of Fundora’s injury and recovery time are known.

The co-main event, which featured the clash between WBC super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster and featherweight titleholder Stephen Fulton, will also be postponed.

This is the second time the Foster-Fulton fight has been rescheduled, as it was initially planned for August, on a card involving Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach, but ultimately did not materialize.

Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) was hoping to fight for the third time in 2025. This year he achieved knockout victories over Tim Tszyu and Chordale Booker. The fight against Thurman represented an important title defense for “The Towering Inferno”.

Thurman (36-1, 23 KOs) was looking to get gold in the super welterweight for the second time. In March, Thurman was forced to withdraw from a WBC title fight against Tszyu due to an injury, and was replaced by Fundora, who achieved victory and the title. Thurman, 36, has only fought once since 2022, achieving a TKO victory over Brock Jarvis in March 2025.
