Eubank Jr. Reveals Challenges Faced in His Preparation for the Benn Fight
Chris Eubank Jr. shared details about the difficulties he went through during his preparation for Saturday’s fight, where he faced Conor Benn. After a defeat in their initial encounter in April, Eubank Jr. failed to keep up the pace from the start of the fight, with Benn employing his jab and movement to wear down his opponent. Benn’s superiority materialized with two knockdowns in the twelfth round, and Eubank Jr. was saved by the bell. After the fight, both boxers embraced despite their rivalry, and Eubank Jr. congratulated his opponent. However, the boxer revealed that personal problems and the demand to lose weight affected him during training, and that from the first round he realized the difficult battle he was facing in the rematch.
When asked about the possibility of a third fight, the boxer did not comment on his future in the sport.I’ve been through hell to get here. Honestly, I thought that, despite the problems I’ve had, I could come out and win. Use my boxing skills. Use what they saw in that first fight to beat Conor Benn. From the first round, I realized I was wrong, but it’s okay. I am a fighter. This is what I do. I tried my best. Conor Benn gave an incredible fight. He had a great performance. He did everything that was asked of him, and I congratulate him on his performance.

What Chris went through at the camp… He won’t want to talk about it, but the things I saw, he did incredibly well to get in the ring tonight. What I saw, he deserves huge credit for being there tonight. It was an incredible spectacle.
