Gabriel Misses Match Against Brazil Due to Injury

Arsenal defender Gabriel will not be available for Brazil’s match against Tunisia on Tuesday due to a groin injury. The player had to be substituted before the hour mark in Brazil’s friendly against Senegal on Saturday.

“Arsenal player Gabriel Magalhães was re-evaluated this Sunday and underwent imaging tests that revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh,” the Brazilian federation reported in a statement.

As a result, Gabriel will not travel with the team for the match against Tunisia in Lille. No other player will be called up to replace him. This injury represents a hard blow for Arsenal, whose performance in the search for the title this season has been boosted by Gabriel’s performances in defense. The defender has been fundamental in a defense that has conceded only five goals in 11 Premier League matches. Furthermore, he has participated in three goals, including a late winning goal against Newcastle United in September. The injury puts Gabriel’s participation in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at risk after the international break.
