Eubank Jr. Not Retiring: Seeks Return to the Ring in 2026, Promoter Claims

Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on his boxing return. According to his promoter, Ben Shalom, the British pugilist hopes to return to the ring in mid-2026. This statement comes after his unanimous decision defeat to Conor Benn a few weeks ago. Eubank Jr. revealed he had gone through tough training, without specifying the problem he faced. The fight was governed by a 10-pound rehydration clause, limiting the weight of both boxers to 170 pounds on the morning of the fight. Although Eubank Jr. has competed in the middleweight category (160 pounds), he made it clear that it was not his ideal weight. Despite doubts about his future in boxing, Shalom confirmed that Eubank Jr. intends to return to the ring next year.

He’s okay, he’s recovering. Obviously he’s devastated, but anyone can see that wasn’t Chris Eubank Jr. in the ring.

Shalom added that Eubank Jr. “threw probably 30% of the punches” and that “he was half the man he could have been”. Shalom also mentioned the possibility of a trilogy with Benn if Eubank Jr. regains his physical form and there is no rehydration clause.

For his part, Benn has ruled out the rivalry and seeks to compete in the welterweight category (147 pounds) in search of world titles. Shalom indicated that there are several options for Eubank Jr., but decisions will be made once the boxer is fully recovered.

There are many names out there, but he needs to be in shape and healthy. Instead of calling out fighters now, once he is physically 100%, we can make that decision. I think it will be mid-next year.
