Chris Eubank Jr. Aims for a Clash Against Canelo Álvarez in 2026

Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a fight against Canelo Álvarez in early 2026, provided he manages to defeat Conor Benn in their rematch scheduled for November 15th. This was revealed by promoter Ben Shalom. Eubank will face Benn for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, after having won their first encounter by unanimous decision in April. According to the terms of the contract, both pugilists are obligated to fight twice. The rematch will also be held at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds, with a 10-pound rehydration clause, as it was in the first fight. In case of victory, Eubank will seek a mega fight against Álvarez or even Terence Crawford in the first part of 2026.

“[2026 is] a great year for Eubank,” Shalom stated.

Shalom added: “I think he will overcome this decisively [against Benn] and then he will want the best. Canelo, Crawford, those are the two names he would like to fight and we hope to be able to make it happen early next year.”

Following Crawford’s victory over Álvarez last week, Eubank posted on social media: “Eubank x Crawford 2026”. However, he has previously been linked to Álvarez, and Shalom believes that is the most likely for his next fight.

“I think [Canelo] is the fight,” Shalom said.

“Canelo has never fought in the UK, the biggest star in boxing, and you have the biggest British boxing star [Eubank], the only one who could really make sense for Canelo. “I think Wembley would sell out. I think it’s one of the biggest fights you could make in the boxing world. Chris is focused on November 15th and then we can look at that fight.”
