Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a showdown against Canelo Álvarez early next year, as long as he manages to beat Conor Benn in their rematch on November 15th. This has been revealed by promoter Ben Shalom. Eubank will face Benn for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, after winning their first encounter by unanimous decision in April. The contract obliges both boxers to fight twice. The rematch will also take place at middleweight (160 pounds), with a 10-pound rehydration clause, just like the first fight. In the event of victory, Eubank will seek a mega-fight against Álvarez or even Terence Crawford in early 2026.

“[2026] is going to be a great year [for Eubank]”, Shalom stated.

Shalom also added: “I think he will emerge victorious from this confrontation [against Benn] in a resounding manner and then he will want the best. Canelo and Crawford are the two names he would like to fight and we hope to be able to make that happen early next year.”

After Crawford’s victory over Álvarez, Eubank Jr. posted on social media: “Eubank x Crawford 2026”. However, he has previously been linked to Álvarez, and Shalom believes that is the most likely option.

“I think [Canelo] is the fight,” Shalom said.

“Canelo has never fought in the UK, the biggest star in boxing, and you have the biggest star in UK boxing [Eubank], the only one who could really make sense for Canelo. I think it would sell out Wembley. I think it’s one of the biggest fights that could possibly be made in world boxing. Chris is focused on November 15th, then we can look at that fight.”
