A Unique Championship Ring at Stake for Canelo vs. Crawford
In an event promising to be epic, the fight for the undisputed super middleweight title between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, will have an added luxury component: a championship ring designed by the World Boxing Council (WBC). This stunning ring, part of the WBC Crown series, was designed by Rasheen Farlow, strategic partner of the WBC, and materialized by Jason of Beverly Hills. The jewel, crafted with yellow gold, incorporates almost 10 carats of precious stones, including 8.5 carats of white diamonds. The value of the piece exceeds $100,000. In the center of the ring, a collection of green stones represents the iconic green belt of the WBC. In addition, four colored stones symbolize the affiliated sanctioning organizations: WBC, World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), and World Boxing Association (WBA).
By turning the top of the ring, an image of Allegiant Stadium is revealed with a quadrilateral in the center and the names of Crawford and Canelo in their respective scoring zones. One side of the ring shows the fight date over the Ring Magazine logo and a pair of boxing gloves. The other side bears the word “Undisputed” and the WBC logo in diamonds, along with the year.The belt will always be sacred in boxing, it is the jewel in the crown of tradition. But a ring?
