The driver Valtteri Bottas has expressed his interest in joining Cadillac for the next Formula 1 season, describing the project as “interesting”.

The American team prepares to debut as the eleventh team on the F1 grid, and team director Graeme Lowdon revealed that at least six drivers are on the candidate list to fill the two available seats.

In addition to Sergio Pérez, Bottas, former teammate of Lewis Hamilton and now reserve driver for Mercedes, has expressed his desire to continue competing in F1 and considers Cadillac a viable option.

I don’t think they’re in a hurry. They’ve been very busy trying to have a car on the grid for next year.

Bottas expects to have a decision on his plans for next year in August. The Finnish driver believes that his experience in three different teams, including one with great success and Williams, could be beneficial. The Finnish driver, with ten F1 victories and five constructors’ titles with Mercedes, sees the Cadillac project as an opportunity to influence the team from its inception. Bottas highlights that the changes in the rules are a good time to join, as they could lead to success from the beginning.
