Wander Franco’s Lawyer Denies Illegal Possession of Firearm

San Juan de la Maguana – The lawyer of Major League player Wander Franco has addressed the accusations of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, denying that his client was in illegal possession of a firearm.

Attorney Teodocio Jáquez, legal representative of Franco, explained that the weapon belongs to a relative of the baseball player.

The gun was stored in the vehicle, without Franco knowing of its presence.

Jáquez detailed that the weapon was in the vehicle’s glove compartment and that Franco was unaware of its existence. Furthermore, the lawyer emphasized that the player never handled the weapon.

The owner of the weapon voluntarily presented himself before the Prosecutor’s Office of San Juan de la Maguana with the relevant documentation, including the license to carry and possess, which is valid.

The defense attorney insisted that the investigations carried out so far support Franco’s version, as there is no evidence that the player has violated the Arms Law.

Pending an official statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, it is anticipated that the legal situation of the Dominican player will be resolved in the coming days.
