Jac Caglianone Shines with a Stellar Performance

The Kansas City Royals’ hitter, Jac Caglianone, left behind his slow start in the Major Leagues with a dominant performance on Sunday. Caglianone had a perfect day, connecting four hits in four at-bats, which contributed to the Royals’ victory over the Chicago White Sox with a score of 7-5.

This outstanding performance came after the player recorded a batting average of .095 in his first five MLB games.

A huge thank you to all the guys in the locker room. They gave me a lot of support. I was hitting the ball hard, but it wasn’t coming together. Fortunately, today the ball found the grass.

During the game, Caglianone hit a single to center field in the first inning, a double with an exit velocity of 113.6 mph in the fourth, and additional singles in the sixth and eighth innings.

Jac has had 20 at-bats, and he’s hit a lot of solid hits in those 20. Today he was rewarded for it.

Matt Quatraro, Royals Manager
Caglianone, 22, was selected by Kansas City with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 amateur draft. Before his promotion to the Major Leagues, the outfielder/first baseman batted .322 with 15 home runs and 56 RBIs in the minor leagues. His MLB debut was on Tuesday against St. Louis, where he failed to get a hit in five at-bats. He got his first two hits in the first game of a doubleheader against St. Louis on Thursday and singled against the White Sox on Saturday.

I’m eager to see what this guy is going to do in the Major Leagues. He’s one of the best. He’s a big guy, so I think he’s going to do well.

Salvador Pérez
Caglianone, standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 250 pounds, is receiving support from Pérez and the rest of the team. Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has been giving him daily advice. Caglianone could make his home debut on Tuesday night when the Royals host the New York Yankees.

I’m very excited. I think I’m more excited about that than the debut itself. A lot of family and friends will come, so I’m excited to see them and to see all the fans at Kauffman Stadium.
