Ryan Weathers Impressed by Start and Evaluated by the Marlins
In an unusual incident during Saturday’s game, Miami Marlins pitcher Ryan Weathers was hit in the head by a pitch from catcher Nick Fortes. The incident occurred during pre-game warmups before the first inning.
The Fortes launch impacted Weathers on the top of his head, causing him to fall to the mound. Athletic trainers quickly came to attend to the pitcher.Despite the hit, Weathers managed to pitch three innings. He was removed from the game in the third inning “for precautionary reasons,” according to the team. During his time on the mound, he threw 57 pitches, allowing four runs, three of them earned, with three hits and one walk.
I felt very disconnected out there, just with all that adrenaline that it left me. It was like that ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ episode where everything is on fire inside his brain and I felt like I was in pure chaos after that happened. So it was the right time to get out of the game.
