Guardiola Confirms Ederson and Ortega’s Continuity at Manchester City

The Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, has cleared up any doubts about the team’s goalkeeping situation for next season. The manager has confirmed that both Ederson and Stefan Ortega will remain at the club. Ederson, who had an offer to join the Saudi Pro League last year, and Ortega, whose contract ends in 2026, will continue to defend the goal for the “Citizens”.

We have talked about squad planning and the two goalkeepers we have will continue.

These statements were made by Guardiola at a golf event in Catalonia.

Pep Guardiola ha dicho que Ederson (L) se quedará en el City este verano.

Guardiola also commented on the interest in Espanyol’s goalkeeper, Joan García, whom he described as “extraordinary.” However, the coach downplayed any interest from City in the player.

García, who has a release clause of 25 million euros, has also sparked the interest of other clubs, including FC Barcelona.

The coach added:

Joan García is a really good goalkeeper, but City is linked to 500 players in every transfer window.

City’s possible exit from the race for García could facilitate his arrival at Barcelona.

Other Premier League teams, such as Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth, have also shown interest in the goalkeeper.
