Finalists for the NHL General Manager of the Year Award
The NHL has announced the finalists for the prestigious Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award. The nominees are Jim Nill, Kevin Cheveldayoff, and Bill Zito, who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in their respective organizations.
The voting for this recognition took place among the league’s general managers, a panel of executives and members of the media, once the second round of the playoffs was completed.
Jim Nill, 67, has managed to lead the Dallas Stars to the Western Conference Finals for the third consecutive season. Nill has already won this award twice, in 2023 and 2024, and is a finalist for the fifth time.
Kevin Cheveldayoff, 55, has been at the helm of the Winnipeg Jets for the past 14 seasons. Under his leadership, the team won the Presidents’ Trophy this season. Cheveldayoff was also a finalist for the General Manager of the Year award in 2018.
Bill Zito, 60, seeks to guide the Florida Panthers to their third consecutive Stanley Cup Final. Zito has been a finalist for the General Manager of the Year award for three consecutive years and four of the last five.
