Mascherano Wants Messi’s Renewal at Inter Miami
Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano has expressed his strong desire for Lionel Messi to renew his contract with the club. Mascherano emphasized the importance of this news for the peace of mind of the fans and the entire institution.
“Obviously, as a coach, I want him to renew his contract as soon as possible and for the news to be announced as soon as possible, especially for the peace of mind of the fans, the peace of mind of everything surrounding the club,” Mascherano stated.

These statements come after Mascherano expressed his hope on May 18 that good news about the possible extension of Messi’s contract would be announced soon.
Negotiations between Messi and Inter Miami are ongoing.
Lionel Messi’s contract with Inter Miami ends at the end of 2025.
The team is currently focused on overcoming a complicated period, after losing five of the last seven matches in all competitions. Their last victory was against the New York Red Bulls on May 3rd.
Mascherano insists that the team must work together, both on and off the field, to regain the path to victory.
“Obviously, we have taken advantage of this week to work on many things that we have to improve and it has been very productive, but it is nothing different from what we have been doing,” said Mascherano.

Defender Ian Fray revealed that some key players took the initiative to guide the team after the recent 3-0 defeat against Orlando City.
“Yes, we had something after one of the matches where they [Suárez, Messi and others] spoke and said that we have to get out of this and we are not in a good moment,” said Fray.
