The Chicago Cubs have decided to call up third baseman Matt Shaw from Triple-A Iowa, according to multiple reports.
Shaw, 23, has shown outstanding performance in his last 11 games with Iowa, batting .295 with an OPS of 1.119, five home runs, 10 RBIs, and 15 runs scored.
Previously, Shaw started the season with the Cubs, where he batted .172 with one home run, three RBIs, and 18 strikeouts in 18 games.
The Cubs selected Shaw with the thirteenth overall pick in the 2023 draft, coming from the University of Maryland.
