Mason Mount Seeks Redemption in the Europa League After a Difficult Start at Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has shared his experiences about the complicated start to his career at the club, as he prepares to leave behind two years marked by injuries and fight to win the Europa League.
Mount could start against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao, having been included in the starting eleven in three of the last four matches.
Mount’s return has been timely. Injuries have limited his participation to just 45 appearances since joining United from Chelsea in 2023, in a £60 million deal. He has completed the full 90 minutes on only one occasion.
Mount acknowledges that his time at Old Trafford has been “tough”, but now, recovered and with valuable minutes under his belt, he hopes to crown his return with a winner’s medal in the Europa League.

Injuries are something I obviously didn’t see coming. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve stayed very focused throughout that time. I always had the end goal in mind that it would go well and something would happen and I would have a moment where I would score some goals or something would happen.
