Championship leader Oscar Piastri dominated Friday’s first practice session at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
The session was cut short a few minutes earlier than scheduled due to a red flag, after Sauber rookie Gabriele Bortoleto crashed in the final three minutes.
Lando Norris finished just 0.032 seconds behind Piastri’s time, who set a time of 1:16.545. Carlos Sainz placed third, 0.052 seconds behind Norris.
