Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-Min has filed a complaint with South Korean police over an extortion attempt, his agency said on Thursday. The complaint follows media reports that a woman threatened the footballer with a false pregnancy accusation.

“The police are currently investigating, so we will inform you of the results as soon as they are available,” Son & Football Limited said in a statement. “We would like to inform you that Son Heung-Min is clearly the victim of this incident.”

Police arrested a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s, and are investigating allegations that they tried to extort Son with the false claim of pregnancy, local media reported on Thursday, citing police sources.

Son, who is 32 years old, is a very popular figure in South Korea, not only for his success in the English Premier League, but also for his dedication to the national team as captain.
