Stan Wawrinka and Richard Gasquet Receive Wild Cards for Roland Garros
In a recent announcement, the list of players who have received invitations to participate in the prestigious Roland Garros tournament was revealed. Among the prominent names are Stan Wawrinka, winner of three Grand Slam titles, and the French veteran Richard Gasquet.
Wawrinka, who celebrates his 40th birthday this year, won his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2014. Subsequently, he added victories at the 2015 Roland Garros and the 2016 US Open to his impressive record.
The Swiss tennis player has faced challenges with injuries in recent years, which has affected his position in the ATP ranking, currently placing him at number 132.
On the other hand, Gasquet, 38, is preparing for his last tournament in Paris. The French tennis player, who reached the number 7 spot in the world ranking in 2007, was considered a tennis promise. Throughout his career, Gasquet has won 16 titles and was part of the French team that won the Davis Cup in 2017.
