Haaland remains unstoppable, but injuries worry City

Manchester City achieved a 2-0 away victory against Villarreal in the Champions League, but the joy was marred by Nico González’s injury. Erling Haaland continues his goalscoring streak by scoring his 24th goal in 14 matches this season, both for the club and his national team. The Norwegian striker already has 53 goals in 51 Champions League matches. Haaland has proven to be at the peak of his career, scoring in nine consecutive games with City in all competitions. The victory came at a cost for Guardiola’s team. González, who was replacing Rodri, injured with a hamstring injury, had to leave the field due to an apparent injury to his right knee at the beginning of the second half. Mateo Kovacic, recently recovered from an Achilles tendon injury, came on as a substitute for Gonzalez in the 56th minute. Bernardo Silva also scored for City, extending their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions.

I’m happy that Erling scored again and that Bernardo also scored, with his head.

Guardiola
Guardiola’s team broke a streak of five winless away games in the Champions League and has seven points in the group stage. The City’s next challenge is on Sunday against Aston Villa, where Haaland will seek to score for the seventh consecutive game in the Premier League.
