Fenerbahce coach José Mourinho sarcastically answered questions about his starting eleven selection after a match.

Mourinho, who joined Fenerbahce on a two-year contract last summer, has frequently rotated his starting lineup in Super Lig matches.

When a local reporter asked him why, Mourinho replied after his team’s 4-1 victory against Istanbul BB:

I have 25 coins, I toss the coins into the air. Those that stay on the table are the players who play, those that fall to the ground go to the bench. I do it like this. During the week I have fun, I go to nightclubs every day in Istanbul. It’s simple.

Mourinho, who has spoken throughout the season about the “toxic” atmosphere in the Super Lig, avoided answering questions about his future.

Fenerbahce president Ali Koç recently said he would like Mourinho to continue at the club next season, amid reports that the former Chelsea manager could leave this summer. Koç even revealed that Mourinho had received an offer of 36 million euros ($40 million) mid-season to leave Fenerbahce, but he turned it down.

When asked about Koç’s comments, Mourinho said: “His words are his words. I have too much respect for our president… I have no comment, I am just a coach.”

Then, Mourinho was asked twice if he will continue at Fenerbahce at the end of the season or if he will consider other offers and he replied: “I don’t understand the question”.

Mourinho had set out to end Fenerbahce’s 11-year drought without winning the Super Lig title. However, Fenerbahce, which has already secured second place in the Super Lig, is eight points behind leader Galatasaray, with three matches remaining.
