Denny Hamlin Celebrates His 60th Victory with Emotion in Las Vegas

With tears in his eyes and visibly emotional, Denny Hamlin conquered his sixth checkered flag at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, thus achieving his 60th victory in his professional career.

This victory, dedicated to his father, who is facing health issues, secures him a place in the NASCAR championship final.

Hamlin, recognized as one of the most outstanding drivers without yet having won a Cup title, returns to the race for the championship since 2021. The Virginia driver, tied for tenth in the NASCAR win list, couldn’t contain his emotion after an intense battle in the last ten laps, surpassing Kyle Larson and his teammate Chase Briscoe.

Hamlin, who started from fifth position after the last pit stop, overtook Joey Logano and then Larson, to finally snatch the lead from Briscoe. This victory could be the most significant of his career, according to his own words. Joe Gibbs, moved by Hamlin’s dedication, expressed his support for the driver. In the race, Larson placed second, followed by Christopher Bell and Briscoe. Tyler Reddick, who races for 23XI Racing, finished in fifth place, and Logano in sixth.
