The team capped off their successful campaign with a sweep over the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 WNBA Finals.Experts are already anticipating the 2026 season, and the bets favor an emerging team with a potential new MVP.
Favorites for the 2026 Season
Minnesota Lynx is shaping up as the leading contender to win the WNBA title in 2026, with initial odds of +225. Although some sports betting sites also see the team led by Napheesa Collier as the favorite, they offer higher odds, reaching up to +350.However, not all major sportsbooks agree that Minnesota, which fell to Phoenix in the 2025 semifinals, will dethrone Las Vegas next season. BetMGM places the Aces as the favorites for the 2026 title with odds of +300, while the Lynx have the third-best probability with +400. Las Vegas, at least, shares second place in other sportsbooks.
Indiana Fever is also among the teams with the highest chances, tied with the Aces in second place with odds of +250. Indiana had an outstanding season, reaching the WNBA semifinals and even came close to beating Las Vegas in five games, despite key injuries to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, among other players. The Fever are consistently one of the most popular future bets among the public and represent a significant risk for bookmakers. New York Liberty, WNBA champions in 2024, are also on the list of favorites, although the odds vary considerably between different bookmakers, ranging from +330 to +700. Phoenix Mercury, runners-up this season, are just behind the Liberty in most odds lists, but also present a wide range of probabilities, between +700 and +1100. The highest odds correspond to the expansion teams Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, both with odds of 250-1 for the 2026 title.While expecting a championship from any of these franchises in their first WNBA seasons might be ambitious, the Golden State Valkyries (+6000) proved there’s value in betting on expansion teams. The Valkyries surpassed their preseason win total of 8.5 before the halfway point of their inaugural season and made the playoffs despite preseason odds of +1300.
