Brady Tkachuk, Senators Captain, Out with Injury
Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk will be out of the game for at least a month due to an injury to his right hand, according to coach Travis Green on Tuesday. Tkachuk suffered the injury on Monday, the result of a hit by Roman Josi, defenseman for the Nashville Predators, at the beginning of the first period. The player stayed in the game, but had to leave it in the second half of the third period.Green also mentioned that surgery is an option for Tkachuk, but that, at a minimum, he will be out for four weeks. In the current season, Tkachuk has recorded three assists in three games for Ottawa, the team that selected him in the fourth position of the 2018 draft. Brady’s brother, Matthew, is also injured, and is expected to be out of action until December. Both Tkachuk brothers were among the first six players named by the United States to their initial roster for the 2026 Olympic Games.“He’s going to miss a significant amount of time,” Green stated. “We’ll know more in the next 24 hours. We don’t know exactly, but it’s four weeks or more. We don’t know exactly.”
