India defines its XI for the Adelaide Test: Shaw, Saha and Ashwin

The India team has been announced for the Adelaide Test, with Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin and Prithvi Shaw in the lineup. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers.

Indian Team Selection

The main questions for India before the Test included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper. The XI’s designation cleared up the doubts. Shaw, despite the pressure from Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches, was selected. Although Shaw did not have an outstanding performance in the practice games, India opted for continuity in the opening.

Ashwin’s selection was also maintained, especially due to Ravindra Jadeja’s absence due to injury. Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant, prioritizing his wicketkeeping skills. Yadav was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing Ishant Sharma, who is injured.
