The End of the Vision: Bron Breakker Attacks Seth Rollins on “Raw”

The vision has faded. After weeks of doubts and speculation about what would happen if Seth Rollins lost at Crown Jewel, Rollins managed to defeat Cody Rhodes on Saturday. However, this immediately cost him dearly. Bron Breakker, with an impactful speech, marked the end of “Raw”, sending the Vision trio into oblivion. This breakup was especially surprising, as Rollins had begun the show by praising Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman. This unexpected turn culminated a show full of surprises, from Dominik Mysterio’s cunning to retain his Intercontinental title to the tense relationship between Asuka and Kairi Sane, and Lyra Valkyria’s possible strategy to understand Bayley. Here are the key points from the last day of WWE in Perth, Australia.

“Raw” Results from October 13th:

  • Dominik Mysterio, Intercontinental Champion, defeats Penta by pinfall.
  • Rhea Ripley defeats Kairi Sane by pinfall.
  • Bronson Reed defeats Jimmy Uso by pinfall.
  • Bayley and Lyra Valkyria defeat Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez by pinfall.
  • CM Punk defeats LA Knight and Jey Uso.

Breakdown in Vision?

Rollins kicked off the program with a promo praising Breakker, Reed, and Heyman, but omitted the ultimatum Heyman had issued before Crown Jewel in case Rollins lost to Rhodes. In fact, Rollins reaffirmed himself, saying later in the show: “This is the top of the mountain… rarefied air.” Now, he needs an oxygen mask, as Breakker and Reed have put a target on his back. The Vision’s collapse was a big surprise, especially since it happened right after CM Punk won a triple-threat match against Jey Uso and LA Knight, positioning himself as the number one contender for Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship. Furthermore, Heyman raised Reed and Breakker’s arms after their attack on Rollins, leaving Rollins seemingly alone and shattered. With adversaries in every corner and no one on his side, the Visionary’s future and his aspirations to remain world heavyweight champion seem uncertain. The timing of this attack is questionable. Breakker is a future world champion and Reed has achieved incredible victories, but this rivalry feels sudden and premature. Perhaps an extra layer of intrigue was needed in the Punk vs. Rollins saga? Could the Brons cost Rollins his world title and then face each other?

More key points from “Raw”:

Dominik Mysterio continues to find cunning but ingenious ways to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Against Penta, he distracted the timekeeper to steal the hammer, then placed his title in the middle of the ring. While the referee was busy removing the belt, Mysterio hit Penta in the knee with the hammer and then hid it in his boot to execute a 619 and a frog splash, retaining his title. These ingenious victories continue to work well on screen and entertain the WWE audience. The Kabuki Warriors appear to be on the verge of implosion, but for now, they are held together by a thread. Asuka yelled at and slapped Kairi Sane before Sane’s match with Rhea Ripley, which Sane lost. However, Asuka got revenge by applying a DDT to Ripley on the commentary table, and the scene ended with Asuka and Sane embracing over Ripley. Will these two teams (Ripley and Iyo Sky and The Kabuki Warriors) find three more partners and fight at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29? In the last 48 hours, Reed and Ripley have a 4-0 record against the local crowds. What alternate WWE universe are we living in?

Do you remember the character Festus in the 2000s? He was kind and gentle, but as soon as the bell rang, he turned into a monster. It seems that Bayley has a version of that. Lyra Valkyria received the happy version of Bayley when they entered their match with Judgement Day, but Valkyria needed the ruthless Bayley, so she slapped her to awaken her evil, which led to victory. As WWE commentator Michael Cole pointed out, “Has Lyra discovered Bayley?”
