Bonao Miners win the 2025 Summer National Baseball League title

In an exciting day, the Bonao Miners were crowned champions of the 2025 Summer National Baseball League, after defeating the Puerto Plata Athletics with a score of 11 runs to 5 in the fifth and decisive game of the final series.

Jomar Reyes led the Miners’ offense with three RBIs, while Kevin Lolo Sánchez and Imanol Vargas contributed two RBIs each, sealing the victory for their team.

The match, played at the Bebecito del Villar Stadium, was witnessed by an euphoric fanbase that celebrated their team’s victory at home.

Wilber Pérez had an outstanding performance on the mound, limiting the Athletics to only one run in five innings, with three walks and nine strikeouts, which earned him the victory.

The Athletics took the lead in the first inning, but the Miners responded with a rally that allowed them to take control of the game. At the end of the third inning they were losing by the minimum and a rally at the bottom of the fourth gave them a 5-3 lead.

At the close of the sixth, Bonao settled even more on the scoreboard with a score of seven to three, followed by one more in the seventh and secured with another three in the eighth.

Wilkin Estévez and José Olaizola did not have their best performance on the mound, allowing runs that complicated the situation for the Athletics.

Jomar Reyes was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the final.

For the Miners, Kings of 5-2, three RBIs. Sánchez, 3-1, four runs scored and two RBIs and Vargas, 3-1, with two RBIs.

Bonao won the first game of the final 4-1. Puerto Plata conquered games 2 (9-5) and 3 (5-3) to go up 2-1, but the Miners returned in the fourth (24-9) and fifth game (11-5).

The Miners replace the Moca Farmers, champions of the last edition.

For the Athletics, Cristofer Pujols went 2-for-4, with one run scored and two RBIs.
