WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027

In a historic milestone for professional wrestling, WrestleMania, WWE’s flagship event, will move outside of North America for the first time. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will host “The Showcase of the Immortals” in 2027, as part of the “Riyadh Season” initiative. Since its debut in 1985, WrestleMania has been held exclusively in North American cities. This decision marks a significant change and demonstrates the global expansion of WWE.

This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

The official announcement comes shortly after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed the news via a Snapchat video.

WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. Our vision is to elevate this iconic event to unprecedented heights and deliver a WrestleMania like never before seen.

Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia
WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, thanks to a billion-dollar deal that includes multiple shows over ten years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s “Big Four” events to be held in the country.

Meanwhile, WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. It will be the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts this prestigious event.
