Paul Pierce Arrested for Driving Under the Influence

Former NBA player Paul Pierce was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence on a Los Angeles highway, authorities said. California Highway Patrol officers responded to a car accident on the northbound lanes of Highway 101 around 10:40 p.m. After reopening the lanes approximately an hour later, they found a Range Rover SUV stopped in the lane. Pierce was found asleep at the wheel. The officers observed signs of alcohol impairment and proceeded to conduct a DUI investigation. Pierce was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, which will be reviewed by the Los Angeles city attorney. The former player shared on his Instagram account that he had fallen asleep while in a traffic jam.
