WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host in 2027

In an unprecedented move, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will be held outside of North America for the first time. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host the “Showcase of the Immortals” as part of the “Riyadh Season” in 2027, as announced by WWE on Friday. Since its creation in 1985, WrestleMania has been held exclusively in North American cities. This decision marks a significant milestone in the event’s history, which is now expanding globally.

The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, mentioned in a now-deleted Snapchat live video that WrestleMania would be moving to Saudi Arabia.

WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, following a billion-dollar deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to hold multiple events over 10 years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania 42 will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. It will be the second consecutive time that Las Vegas will host WrestleMania.
