Alex De Minaur Reaches 50 Wins in the Season

The seventh seed, Alex De Minaur, became the third player of the season to reach 50 tournament-level victories, after defeating Nuno Borges with a score of 7-5 and 6-2 at the Shanghai Masters this Wednesday. De Minaur displayed a strong game, achieving 19 winners on his way to the quarterfinals of the Masters 1000, in a match that lasted one hour and 47 minutes. Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 67 wins, and Taylor Fritz, with 50, had already reached 50 wins in 2025. In his best previous season, De Minaur accumulated 47 wins in 2024, and conquered two titles. In the next round, De Minaur will face the sixteenth seed, Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Learner Tien with scores of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (1), and 6-4. In addition, the twelfth seed, Felix Auger-Aliassime, eliminated eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti with a score of 6-4 and 6-2, securing his place in the quarterfinals against Arthur Rinderknech, who surprisingly beat another seed, Jiri Lehecka (15), with a result of 6-3 and 7-6 (5). Rinderknech, currently ranked 54th, who previously eliminated Alexander Zverev (3), has managed to advance to the quarterfinals, joining his cousin Valentin Vacherot.
