Napheesa Collier Suffers Ankle Injury: Season Over for Lynx Star

Minnesota Lynx’s star player, Napheesa Collier, suffered an injury that ends her participation in the current season. The news was confirmed by sources close to the situation.

The injury occurred during a game on Friday, resulting from a collision with Alyssa Thomas, a player for the Phoenix Mercury. The diagnosis reveals a grade 2 tear in three ankle ligaments, in addition to an injury to a shin muscle.

The estimated recovery time for this type of injury is at least six weeks, which prevents Collier from returning to the court for the remainder of the season. This means that, even if the Lynx had advanced in the playoffs, they would not have been able to count on their star.

The Phoenix Mercury team finally eliminated the Lynx, who played at a disadvantage, in the fourth game of the series, sealing the fate of the season for Minnesota.

Additionally, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve was ejected from the third game and received a one-game suspension due to her reaction to the play in which Collier was injured.
